360 degree LED screens

Evolution’s 360 degree LED screens

It’s great when a client of some 15years standing allows us to continue to innovate and push the technical boundaries at their events, keeping them at the forefront of their industry and us at the forefront of ours.

Evolution’s International Production Director, Neil Woodward, commented “This year’s magnificent centrepiece at The London Boat Show was a spectacular 360-degree, LED screen, seemingly hovering above our client’s yachts. It eclipsed the other stands, even if I say so myself!” Thanks Neil!

For the technical enthusiasts, the LED screen measured 10m in diameter. The Screen had 39,680,310 pixels of 3.9mm LED, it weighed 3.25 tonnes and took 3 days to build and configure.

Neil picks up the story again – “it’s not just the amazing screen that we provided, we design and install all of the booming sound and choreographed lighting to show the yachts at their absolute best, as we’ve been doing for 15 years”.

Over the years our state-of-the-art systems have been in exalted company, delivering perfect sound at The Boat Show display for the likes of Alfie Boes, Katherine Jenkins, Only Men Aloud, James Cordon, Chris Evans, Rebecca Ferguson, Nicole Scherzinger, Richard Hammond, Joanna Lumley, Eddie Jordan, Claudia Winkleman, Hugh Bonneville, Colin Jackson, Suzi Perry and Ben Haenow. Quite some list!

Neil enthused “and this year I got to work with the legendary Sir Geoff Hurst and TV’s Jake Humphrey as they helped Sunseeker announce their sponsorship of the next four FIFA World Cup finals.”

It doesn’t end with London… our team travelled to the Düsseldorf Boat Show a week later to deliver a version of the set up there , and later in the Summer we’ll be at The Southampton Boat Show with our client …. But we couldn’t possibly tell you what to expect there. (It’s a secret).

Evolution Explores Malta

Continuing to explore undiscovered event and incentive travel destinations, a recent trip took us to Malta.

Located between Sicily and the North African coast, Malta is a nation known for historic sites related to a succession of rulers including the Romans, Moors, Knights of Saint John, the French and the British.  Best known in Britain as a sun and sea destination, Malta gets more than 300 sunny days a year and is surrounded by the clear blue waters of the Mediterranean.

Evolution Explores Cabo Verde

Our exploration of destinations old and new moves on to the warm waters of the central Atlantic Ocean, and the Cabo Verde (Cape Verde) islands.

This group of 8 very small volcanic islands sits in the ocean some 650km off the African West coast (Dakar, Senegal) and 2,600km or so east of Fortaleza, northern Brazil. The latter is relevant as local legends have it that as recently as 2003, some unlucky Cape Verdean fishermen (or lucky ones, depending on your point of view), were found on the coast of Brazil after drifting for 40 or so days from Cape Verde. Over the past century, Cabo Verde was in turn occupied by the Italians, and then most recently the Portuguese, whose language dominates locally, along with Creole. The islands nominally trade in euros, but this is very much Africa and not Europe.

Evolution Explores Beyond Barcelona

Evolution International is continuing to explore new and exciting destinations on behalf of our clients – CEO Andi Swain recently visited the beautiful region of Catalunya.

Catalunya region is located in North Eastern Spain, stretching from the picturesque Pyrenees Mountains on the French / Andorra borders in the North, down to the Medieval splendour of Tarragona and the Penedes wine growing region in the South. Renowned for its lively Costa Brava beach resorts, Catalunya’s pulsating core is the beautiful gothic city of Barcelona. It’s fair to say that the majority of us may well have visited Barça, but how many of us have explored beyond that fantastic city?

Andi shares his experiences and highlights of Catalunya:

Evolution Explores Budapest with Hilton Hotels

Andi Swain, CEO of Evolution International, talks about his time discovering the city of Budapest as a guest of Hilton Hotels:

“As part of our mission to discover new and unusual destinations for our incentive travel and overseas events, we’ve been looking at different places around the world that people may not have ventured to  before, especially on a business rather than leisure basis.

To some, Budapest can have a bit of a reputation as a stag and hen-do city as it’s quite a lively place, great value and only a short flight. It’s not been recognised so much from a business perspective, so I thought I’d go and see what Budapest had to offer.

Discovering Worldwide destinations at IMEX 2017

IMEX is an annual global event for the Business and Leisure Tourism sectors. Held in the Messe Convention and Exhibition Centre in Frankfurt, IMEX fills the huge hall 8 and a good chunk of the adjoining space too.

With more than 3500 representatives from destinations around the world exhibiting, Evolution CEO Andi Swain’s first mammoth task was deciding who to meet. IMEX works brilliantly if you know what you are looking for, the online diary system enabled Andi to arrange over 30 official meetings to fill his three days at the event, not to mention countless opportunities to meet people in the coffee bar and the after-show events taking place each night.
